Essay Outline

Research Question:
Let Okinawa go of the U.S military bases from Okinawa immediately?
My opinion: Not immediately, but in the future after good planning.

Thesis:
There are a lot of U.S military bases in Okinawa, and it causes many problems such as noise pollution, criminal things and so on. Through these problems,
1.) People in Okinawa want to move bases from Okinawa to somewhere immediately.
2.) However, is it right decision to move these bases immediately even though we still depend on bases like in economy field, and no idea after all?
3.) Lost “original” American culture in Okinawa.
4?.) Military issues,,,,?

1. Introduction.

a.) Introduce about Okinawa like climate, culture and so on.
b.) Gaps and Reality of Okinawa. (It seems like Okinawa is like tropical island,
but actually it has many problems which are related to U.S military bases.)

2. Body.

1.) People in Okinawa want to move U.S military bases from Okinawa to somewhere immediately.
a.) Reasons with backgrounds why they want it. Give some examples such as noise pollution,,,
b.) On the other hand, reasons why they can’t move bases from Okinawa.

2.) Is it right decision to move these bases immediately even though we still depend on bases like in economy field, and no idea after all?
a.) States that statement with examples such as like how Okinawa depends on it.
b.) Explain some expectations what problems will be caused
if there were no U.S military bases in Okinawa.(Money, Employment)

3.) Lost original American culture in Okinawa.
a.) Culture of Okinawa after WW2 is really influenced by American culture.
It causes very unique culture in Okinawa. Might get lost it if there were no base?
b.) Many good cultural interaction between American and Okinawa people.

3. Conclusion.

  1. Nice work on the draft of the outline, Kai.

This looks like a basic plan for getting started on the draft.

I would recommend making the thesis more logical using the word "because" to show your reasons.

Thesis: Bases in Okinawa should not be moved immediately because 1) the economy depends on them, and 2) they are an important part of Okinawa culture today. Instead, a plan for a future removal should be made that includes...(state what you think the future plan should be)

Another image of a flow of essay might be:

    I. Intro (many people want bases to move out immediate--give evidence of this feeling, give reasons they think so)

    II. Economic need for bases

    III. Culture and bases

    IV. The Future Plan

    V. Conclusion

    Good luck with your draft!
